Auktion 13. März 2024 - Basel Watch AuctionLiterature:
A similar example is illustrated in Huber & Banbery, Patek Philippe Wristwatches, Volume 2, Second Edition, pp. 128 & 129.
Reference 1593 was produced from 1944 to 1967 and it stands out by its elegant look and is a milestone in the history of wristwatch design. The one version in platinum with diamond indexes and platinum Gay Frères bracelet is among the rarest on the market. Patek Philippe Archives in Geneva will not deliver an extract from the archives as movement and case numbers do not match one another, most probably changed during a later service by one of the successive owners.
