What we Offer
We are One of Switzerland's Leading Art Auction Houses
Artcurial Beurret Bailly Widmer is the result of a merger between two of Switzerland's most successful and renowned auction houses.
One a Basel-based international company, the other a long-established art dealer in eastern Switzerland, together we offer a premium service from locations throughout the country.
The cooperation with the French auction house Artcurial in 2023 will allow us to benefit from an even larger network of contacts and offer our customers access to auctions in Paris and Monaco. Furthermore new sales for luxury items such as watches, jewellery and collector's vehicles are planned to be held in our Swiss market.
We are always on the look out for important artworks for our auctions and would welcome the opportunity to sell your paintings, drawings, sculptures and prints. We can also provide free specialist advice at your home. Contact us >>

Our Areas of Expertise
Classic Swiss art has traditionally been one of our greatest strengths. Over the past thirty years, we have sold works by all of the country's leading artists and achieved record prices for works by figures such as Albert Anker, Ernest Biéler, Marius Borgeaud, Augusto Giacometti, Giovanni Giacometti, Ferdinand Hodler, and Gottardo Segantini.
Over the years, we have sold dozens of works by the most prominent artists, such as Cuno Amiet, Adolf Dietrich, and Felix Vallotton. This has given us particular specialist expertise in the market. We are in constant contact with collectors of, and experts in, the works of these painters, giving us a central role in this area.
For decades, our eastern Switzerland location has been a national centre for works by painters from that region, such as Ferdinand Gehr and Carl Liner, and classic folk painters like Babeli Giezendanner and J.J. Heuscher.

Auctions in Switzerland
In June, we hold auctions of works in these two categories to coincide with Art Basel. These enjoy unique prominence as a result of their close proximity to this world-leading art fair. Our national and international clients, including large numbers of collectors and institutions from all over the world, are able to see the originals at viewings.
We have broken many records in both categories. for classic works by artists such as Rudolf Belling, Gustave Caillebotte, Alberto Giacometti, Alberto Magnelli, Albert Marquet, Emil Nolde, Hans Purrmann, and Marianne von Werefkin.
We have also auctioned numerous outstanding works by the likes of Piero Dorazio, Lucio Fontana, Sam Francis, Asger Jorn, Victor Vasarely, the key Zero artists Otto Piene and Günther Uecker, and Georg Baselitz, Gerhard Richter, and Antoni Tàpies.

We also give special prominence to old masters and 19th century artists and hold a separate sale for each category in conjunction with our spring auction, publishing the works in our own catalogue.
This allows us to target collectors and dealers with a special interest in these areas, and we are proud to have presented many works by key Dutch, Italian, French, and German masters. One high point was the sale of a masterpiece by Akseli Gallen-Kallela.
